Why is it important to not lose faith in yourself?

Any business starts with an idea. But on the way to its implementation, you will have to face many trials and challenges. To achieve success, it is important to develop the qualities inherent in successful entrepreneurs. These qualities are certainly possessed by Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys and one of the most successful entrepreneurs in India.

His achievements are hard to overestimate.

Infosys is a symbol of success in the field of information technology. It has a capital of more than one hundred billion dollars and is part of the Indian IT Giants group. In 1999, Infosys became the first Indian company on the NASDAQ stock exchange. And in 2012, its shares appeared on the New York Stock Exchange.

Infosys and its co-founders have won international recognition and have become an example for many start-ups. Narayana Murthy’s contribution to the information technology industry has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Order of the Legion of Honor from France, the Order of the British Empire from Great Britain, and the Padma Bhushan award.

And yet, the history of Infosys began with a tiny office and initial capital of two hundred and fifty dollars!

What qualities helped the Indian entrepreneur achieve such outstanding results?

1.Hard work and persistence.

Narayana Murthy’s family did not have the money to pay for the young man’s education at university, and he had to study at a local technology college. But the young man spent many hours over books, showed excellent academic performance, and was able to continue his studies at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur. It was there that the future billionaire got acquainted with computers and decided to become a programmer.

In 1969, Narayana Murthy got a position as a system administrator at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. Working twenty hours a day, he earned only eight hundred rupees a month. But at the same time, he continued to study hard and gain experience to become the best specialist in his field.

2. Self-confidence.

In Ahmedabad, Narayana Murthy organized his first company, Softronics. A year and a half later, the company went bankrupt. And Narayana Murthy again became an employee. But the aspiring entrepreneur did not lose faith in himself and did not give up. He decided to try again and in 1981 founded the Infosys company.

3. Readiness to innovate.

It was Narayana Murthy who first proposed the Global Delivery Model (GDM) business strategy, according to which employees located in different countries can work on a project. For example, a customer from the USA can hire programmers from India and vice versa. The model became very popular. It is thanks to it that India gradually turned into one of the world’s centers of information technology.

4. Willingness to help.

Today, Narayana Murthy continues to actively participate in the life of Infosys and inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs with his example. In addition, the billionaire is involved in charity and actively supports various educational and cultural initiatives. The founder of Infosys never tires of reminding aspiring entrepreneurs that self-confidence, persistence and an innovative approach can lead to outstanding results.

Why is this important?

The example of Narayana Murthy, as well as the success story of the founders of Flipkart, clearly demonstrate that hard work, self-confidence and creativity help achieve outstanding results.
