Form your environment the right way!
Psychologists are convinced: the right social circle is the key to realizing your goals. Don’t believe it? There is plenty of evidence to support this. One of the most striking examples is Sid Naidu, founder and owner of the production company Sid Productions.
Sid Naidu is a man who has overcome many obstacles on his path to success. When the future businessman was 11 years old, his father died, and Sid’s life changed dramatically. He and his family faced severe financial struggles. Sid started working as a paperboy to help his family, earning 250 rupees a month. However, the family’s financial situation was still difficult.
Sid had to forgo college admission. He finished high school and took a job as a courier, earning 3,000 rupees per month. However, he never abandoned his goal of working in the fashion industry.
Sid continued to work, moving from one company to another. Gradually, he formed his social circle, finding people who, just like him, were interested in the fashion industry. He formed friendly connections with people who could help him. He learned from his new environment, adopting their way of thinking, self-confidence and optimism.
After some time, Naidu set up his own production company, Sid Productions. By 2017, its turnover was 1.3 million rupees!
Certainly, many factors contributed to Naidu’s success. However, according to the entrepreneur himself, the right social circle played far from the least important role in his achievements.
What conclusion can be drawn from Naidu’s story?
Surround yourself with the “right” people. By communicating only with pessimists and unambitious people, you risk losing motivation and self-confidence. Conversely, being around successful and positive individuals can provide you with a powerful boost for growth and development.
The thing is, the people we spend time with can have a great influence on our thoughts, and our thoughts, in turn, shape the reality around us.
By communicating with successful people, you can increase your chances of success, gradually adopting their way of thinking, values and worldview. For example, readiness to take justified risks, desire for learning and development, persistence in achieving goals. Or some others, which we wrote about in the article “4 principles of successful people”.
Yet that’s not all! When we see people around us achieving significant results, it motivates us to take action. Friendship with such individuals creates an atmosphere of support and motivation, which is crucial for overcoming obstacles and achieving goals.
So, when making new acquaintances, try to pay attention to several aspects.
-
Communicate with people who share your interests.
-
Look for those who are willing to support you and provide assistance.
-
Keep your distance from negative people.
-
Form a social circle of energetic, active and goal-oriented individuals.
Remember: the environment is not just a background. It has power over our state of mind. If we can create an atmosphere of success around us, we can significantly increase the chances of achieving the desired results.
